Today I am Grateful For . . .

This wonderful guy!

Mark is the best husband, father, friend, brother, and son. He is so nice and patient. He is full of energy and so fun to be around. He is such a happy and positive person to be around. He is so excited to serve the Lord in any way he can. I'm very proud of him and count being married to him as one of my biggest blessings in life.

Thanks for all the help!

Okay, I am alive. I survived a tonsillectomy. If anyone has gone through one before (Carly) they understand what I mean by "survive". Thanks so much for all of you that helped or even those of you who offered help, it is so appreciated. Still a bit on the mend, but doing much better. THANKS FRIENDS!!!

Jessica is in Need of Help

Hello blog friends,

This is Mark, written on behalf of Jessica. She probably wouldn't write for help like this, so I thought I would do it for her.

Jessica is getting surgery tomorrow, and we've learned that the recovery will take about two weeks. The surgery is super low-risk (she's having her tonsils removed because they're causing monthly strep throats) but the recovery is supposed to be a beast. They say the hardest part will be taking care of the kids when I can't be home due to my work schedule. They say to plan for about two weeks of feeling like your throat is on fire.

So, I'm wondering, are there any of you friends out there who would be willing and able to help Jessica over the next two weeks?

I'm around on the weekends and on this Friday, but I won't be able to miss work next week or the week thereafter. If you would be willing to help watch our kids or help out in some other way, perhaps you would identify that in a comment to this post. I'd love that.

Thanks in advance for your help!

- Mark

Cookbooks

These are two great cookbooks. The Nordstrom one has the most amazing recipe for lemon bars. The "Family Dinner Cookbook" is great! I have loved every recipe I've made out of it (and I've been using it almost everyday since I bought it a few months ago). I made tortilla soup out of this cookbook tonight and we all loved it! Mark thought it was a hit, he wants it tomorrow night. You should try the sugar cookies!
