Today I want to write why I am grateful for Emma:
1. Fun.
2. When Emma wakes up from being asleep she talks so loud and says things like, "Oh Wow!"; "Emma's slide. Daddy's slide. Ethan's slide. Mommy's slide" (insert many different words in place of "slide".)
3. Anything we see is Emma's. "Emma's tree"; "Emma's bird"; "Emma's do do slide."
4. She gets so excited when one of us gets home after being gone for a little bit. We know we can expect a great big welcome from her when we walk in the door.
5. When she counts to "ten" she counts "1...2...3...6...7...14"
6. She's quick to say sorry and know when she has done something wrong.
7. She can hear Ethan make a the slightest peep long before Mark and I can.
8. When she sees Ethan she gets right into his face and yells, "Hi BABY!!!!" over and over. Then she'll bend down and kiss him all over his face.
9. She is always willing to share her "mineies" (her favorite 2 blankets) with Ethan. Often Ethan ends up with two pink blankets on him. See the picture below.
11. Emma's kisses.
12. Emma likes to watch home video's of herself and often at the end of home videos she starts walking towards the camera saying, "Video." Meaning she wants to watch it.
13. When ever we ask her to point to something or someone (for example: "a bird" in a book we are reading) she has two ways of responding. 1) To take her finger and snap it down like a whip onto the page. 2) Point weakly in the general direction and say with a nasally tone, "Right there".
14. Emma loves her Grandmas and she will be very willing to put on anything as long as I say, "Let's wear this shirt that Grammy gave you". She will then say, "Grammy's shirt" and be really excited to put it on. When I can tell she is going to put up a fight about getting dressed I always grab something that Grammy gave her.
15. She is potty training herself.
16. She is such a good eater and has been eating a lot of fruits and veggies lately...and croutons (she discovered croutons yesterday and ate almost half the box full). Oh yes, and she loves canned mandarin oranges. She eats the whole can of them easily.
17. Ice Cream - The other day Mark got out the bucket of ice cream. He decided to eat right out of the bucket because there was very little left. Emma thought that was great. She proceeded to get between Mark and the ice cream by sitting on his lap, and stole his spoon and would not let him eat anymore. Whenever we tried to get a spoonful, she would turn her body and the bucket and the spoon as far away from us as possible. She ate the rest of the ice cream and refused to share with us. So funny!
18. Obviously, we love Emma and can't imagine life without her joyful, sweet, funny personality and presence in our lives/home
